Teen Arrest For Maryland Murder Brings Closure Rate To 100 Percent In Montgomery County: Police

A recent homicide arrest marks a 100% closure rate for all homicides investigated by the Montgomery County Police Department - Major Crimes Division in 2022, authorities announce.

The October indictment of Kyler Mcroy, 19, for a February 2022 murder marked the 100% closure rate, confirms Montgomery County Police.

Mcroy is accused of shooting Keon Jones, 19, on Feb. 10, 2022 in the location of Cinnamon Drive and Mustard Seed Court.

Officers arrived on the scene and located Jones and performed life-saving measures on him until medics arrived to rush him to the hospital. Jones succumbed to his injuries on Feb. 11, 2022. 

On Thursday, Oct. 27, detectives were able to identify Mcroy as a suspect and indict him with a charge of first-degree murder.
